Description of the School
Nowra Public School is a co-educational government funded state school on a split site.
It caters for children from Kindergarten to Year 6 with close to 600 enrolments including approximately 15% Aboriginal pupils.
It is centrally located in Nowra which is the commercial and administrative hub of the Shoalhaven on the Sth Coast of NSW approximately two hours south of Sydney.
The school is divided into two sites, each with its own office and playground areas.
The main site contains the central office, Principal’s office, classrooms for Years 3-6, school hall, library, canteen, computer lab, District Suspension Unit and large playground area.
The other site (100m further along Plunkett St) contains an office, classrooms for Years K-2, Aboriginal Education Assistant’s room, multi-purpose room and large playground area.
The school has a strong sporting, cultural and educational background with an emphasis on Student Welfare programs.
Our school colours are maroon and white.
The school has four sports houses:
            Eagles     -    Yellow
            Kingfishers    -    Blue
            Magpies    -    Black/white
            Robins    -    Red
